Spark Press is a conceptualized book publishing imprint whose featured novels are Orlando by Virginia Woolf, Moby Dick by Herman Melville, and On the Road by Jack Kerouac. From start to finish the project involved naming the imprint, branding it, and creating a system of three book covers and spines.
In order to come up with the name "Spark Press", I sought a commonality between all three books. To me, they all possessed a sense of adventure and urgency. The sort of feeling that touched the reader and made them feel more alive. This quality is what makes fiction books so powerful. Reading can't solve your problem, but they can gift you a spark that inspires you to solve your own.
